Part Time PhD Program In Yoga In Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya

Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Gayatrikunj, Shantikunj, Haridwar – 24941 will be starting Ph.D (Human Consciousness and Yogic Science) – 6 Seats for the session 2021-22. As per university rules, in the Part time Ph.D. program, candidates will have to fulfil all those educational qualifications which has been determined for full time Ph.D. Program. Candidate will have to complete course–work within the stipulated period and will undergo all the process of assessment, prescribed for fulltime PhD program. All the rules laid down by the University for on–going full time Courses will be applicable for part time PhD program as the same unless otherwise stated.

Eligibility

For admission in Part time PhD program, candidates must have obtained post–graduation degree from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks or B grade in UGC 7 point scale.
Candidates can apply for PhD when in the required subject they have obtained master’s degree.
The candidates of SC / ST / OBC / PWD will be eligible for relaxation of 5% marks in the entrance examination as per the Uttarakhand government order.
International candidates interested in admission must have an equivalent degree from a recognized university of their country.

Part time Ph.D. Essential qualifications and conditions in addition to the above –

1. Any candidate from any Faculty of Education (Central Government/State Government/Private Institution) or Promoted employee of a Public Sector Undertaking/Registered Industrial Institution/Company is eligible for Part time PhD programme.

2. The applicant should be in continuous regular service of at least two years at the time of applying. The candidate is required to take the ‘No Objection Certificate’ from his employer on the letter head of the Institute, with clear announcement that:–
The candidate is working on salary in the institute.
The candidate will be given necessary relaxation from the institute (where he is drawing salary) for his research work. This will have to be ensured in the No Objection Certificate issued from the institution.

Approval is given to the candidate to study in the part–time Ph.D. program.
Along with his official work, he will also ensure to give sufficient time to research work.

3. Apart from these, the candidate who is engaged in personal work/private business or homework, they all are also eligible for this Ph.D. Programme. 4. At the time of interview/discussion, the Departmental Research Committee will ensure that the candidate fulfils all the above conditions and he shall submit the relevant original certificates as the evidence of above. 5. If the researcher changes his working institution after admission to the part–time Ph.D. program, he / she will have to submit a new no objection certificate from the institution he is working now.

Admission process

There will be two question papers for the entrance examination – The first paper related to Research methodology which is compulsory for all candidates (The syllabus can be seen on the University website) and the second paper will be from the subject which has been selected by the candidate (Syllabus prescribed for NET examination by University Grants Commission).
 Paper I and II will be based on objective type questions.
 There will be a research discussion after selection of candidates on the merit basis in the
written entrance examination.
 Maximum 3 candidates per seat will be selected for research discussion.
 It is necessary to be selected on the on the merit basis in the written examination to appear in the research discourse. But admission will be given only on the basis of research discussion result, as the candidates who have been exempted from written examination (NET Slate / GATE etc. qualified) will also be appeared in research discussion. Only the candidates selected in the dissussion examination will be entitled to get admission.
