I have an anterior labral tear on my left hip. The surgeon said surgery probably wouldn't help. What I'd like to know is what poses should I be doing to strengthen my hip joints to provide more cushion for the tear? And which should I avoid? I notice after some practices if feels better and after some it feels worse.

You can try to practice the following postures starting with few seconds gradually increasing the time limit: Padmasana, Parvatasana, and kukutasana. To increase strength on hip area, you can join gym and practice leg extensions, leg curls and legpress. Kindly revert after a couple of days with feedback.
