  1. Sit in any comfortable meditation posture, preferably padmasana.
  2. Keep the head and spine upright.
  3. Relax the whole body and close the eyes.
  4. Adopt right hand in Vishnu Mudra.
  5. Close the right nostril with the thumb of the right hand.
  6. Inhale deeply and slowly through the left nostril upto 4 counts. At the end of inhalation, close both nostrils.
  7. Hold the breath upto 16 counts.
  8. Exhale through the right nostril upto 8 counts.
  9. Again inhale through the right nostril upto 4 counts. At the end of the inhalation, close both the nostrils and hold the breath upto 16 counts.
  10. Exhale through the left nostril upto 8 counts.
  11. Repeat this cycle at least 5-10 times.
