I congratulate you on taking this job as yoga teacher and offer my best wishes to you.

Though during the course of teaching, you will yourself understand the requirements for yoga classes.  However, I would like to add few points for your consideration while enrolling foreigners for yoga classes:

(i) make empty form for brief medical case history so that they can fill the same before enrolling /registering to yoga classes.  Getting filled in brief medical case history forms will enable you to design yoga classes accordingly with instructions common to all as well as covering their needs and also will enable you to guide them as per their past disorders or disease or injuries, according to the case history.  This will also make you professional yoga instructor.

(ii) Please ensure that the hall is well ventilated and conditioned and is away from general noises. The hall should be scented (lightly).

(iii) I do not think need to inform you the sequence of the yoga classes - warm up, yogasanas, pranayamas, progressive relaxation / meditation.

(iv) You can play Instrumental music to maintain the good vibes.

(v) Ensure loose clothing with clients so that you feel comfortable while practicing Yoga

(vi) Contra Indications:- People with fractured bones or high blood pressure, heart patients should do only the specific Asanas not all Asanas. Please be careful.

(vii)Inverted Asanas:- Please be careful for this category of asanas. Do not let any inverted Asana if there is habit of gas in one's stomach or during menstruation, this is to ensure that the poison should not go to brain.

(viii) Ensure that nobody should over strain on any muscle while doing yogasanas.

(ix) Also ensure that every body is enjoying the rhythm of yogasanas.

(x) Give holistic approach to your yoga classes. At the end, addition of little session on positive attitude, motivation, personality development, life skills, mental freshness would be an added advantage to your clients apart from physical health.

(xi) Get weekly / fortnightly / monthly feedback from all of your clients using feedback questionnaire to get the opportunity to improve your classes as per the needs of the clients.

I hope that the above points would be helpful to you. I am happy to share with you the above points. Please feel free to write to me for information, if any required.
