  1. Sit erect with legs stretched, heels together, palms pressing on the floor by the side of the buttocks. Make the spine, neck and head erect. This is Starting Position called Dandasana of Sitting Asanas / Postures.
  2. Fold right leg at the knee and place the heel under the right buttock.
  3. Fold the left leg at the knee and place the heel under the left buttock.
  4. Stand on the knees making the trunk vertical.
  5. Inhale end the body backwards and keep the palms on the soles.
  6. Exhale slowly release the palms
  7. Slowly sit on the heels.
  8. Unfold the left leg and keep it straight.
  9. Unfold the right leg and keep it to the side of left leg.

By the practice of the ustrasana, flexibility of spine and blood flow to brain increases and tones up abdominal viscera and stretches ribs.
