The Upanishads have the following to say. &#8220;In the upper region of the knot resides the coil endowed with immense power. This powerful coil is the\u00a0 cause of the bondage of the ignorant and the emancipation of the Yogi&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The\u00a0 best of the gods, called <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kundalini_yoga\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kundalini<\/a>, slumbers in the base in the shape of a serpent entwined into three and a half spirals. So long as this powerful coil remains dormant, man remains ignorant like an animal and any number of Yogic\u00a0 exercise will lead to enlightenment.&#8221; &#8220;Just as the base of the mountain-studded, forest-clad earth is the hydra-headed serpent, so is the Kundalini\u00a0 the base of all the Yogic formulae.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.askyogaexpert.org\/blog\/muladhara-chakra-shuddhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mooladhara Shuddhi<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.askyogaexpert.org\/1420\/tutorial-how-to-do-nadi-shuddhi-pranayama\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Naadhi Shuddhi Pranayama<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.askyogaexpert.org\/240\/what-are-those-sort-of-bandhas-and-how-we-have-to-do-them\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mahabandha<\/a> will complement the above
